- Weekly holiday pay is due when you work 15 or more hours a week and attend all scheduled days. It applies regardless of workplace size.
- Amounts are before tax and social insurance and do not include the 50% premium for overtime, night, or holiday work at workplaces with five or more employees.
- Pay may be reduced to 90% during a three-month probation only for contracts of one year or longer and not for simple manual labor.
Method and limitations
- Weekly holiday hours = weekly hours ÷ 40 × 8 (15+ hours a week, up to 8 hours). Monthly paid hours = (weekly hours + weekly holiday hours) × 365 ÷ 7 ÷ 12, rounded — 40 hours a week gives 209 hours, the same as the official notice.
- The hourly rate is the Ministry of Employment and Labor minimum wage notice, the same value used by the app’s wage calculator.
